A whole village on the banks of Mount Agung is employed in crafting these pieces, supporting local craftsmanship and tradition. The business is run by a lovely couple, with the village headman ensuring steady work for his community.

The inspiration behind these numbers came from a visit to an old friend. Sitting in his front room, sharing wine and memories, a beautifully carved number 60 caught my eye on the bookshelf beside the telly — surrounded by photos from his sixtieth birthday celebrations.

"My wife made that for me," he explained. It was such a thoughtful, personal gift that it sparked the idea for these wooden numbers. And then came the perfect twist — what if there was room for a night light candle in the top?

Now the numbers can be used as a kind of birthday cake, complete with candles to blow out. They look wonderful on top of a cake, nestled in a floral arrangement, or simply standing alone as a stylish candle holder. A perfect birthday gift for someone special.
