Wooden Birthday Number - No.1

A beautifully hand-carved wooden number, whitewashed for a fresh, on-trend look that brings rustic charm to any room.

Each piece is carefully shaped from sustainable Albesia wood by skilled craftspeople in a small village on the banks of Mount Agung, where the work provides vital employment for the whole community. The family-run business is led by a lovely couple, with the husband proudly serving as village head man, committed to keeping everyone in his village in work.

The idea for these numbers came during a visit to an old friend, sitting in his front room with a glass of wine and reminiscing about the old days. On a bookshelf by the telly sat a lovely carved number 60, surrounded by photos from his sixtieth birthday. "My wife made that for me," he said. Such a thoughtful, personal gift, it sparked the inspiration for our wooden numbers.

But the design goes a little further: a space was shaped into the top of each number to hold a night light candle, turning it into a charming alternative birthday cake where candles can be lit and blown out. They sit beautifully on top of a cake, nestled in a floral arrangement, or stand alone as a stylish candle holder. A perfect birthday gift, or a lovely keepsake for any special occasion.
